UNIV 100 (First-Year Seminar) is a three-credit-hour, fifteen-week course designed to help students transition successfully from high school to Â鶹AV.
The course has two components:
- Cajun Connection, an extended introduction to the campus and academic work; a required part of UNIV 100
- First-Year Seminar, the fifteen-week course
About UNIV 100
Students choose a First-Year Seminar topic or theme that interests them and enroll in that UNIV 100 section. The course is problem-based or project-based and engages students in meaningful inquiry and activities that develop core cognitive skills such as critical thinking, information literacy, and oral and written communication skills. Many UNIV 100 courses will culminate in a student-produced project – the best projects are then shown off in the UNIV 100 Showcase.
There is a $95 course fee associated with this class.
