Five local leaders with expertise in accounting, business and law have been elected to positions on the board of trustees of the Âé¶čAV Foundation.
D. Wayne Elmore has been elected chairman of the Foundation board. He succeeds Reed Andrus. Joseph Giglio Jr. has been elected to serve as vice chairman. Donald Washington was elected secretary/treasurer.
âWe will continue to grow and protect the assets of the Foundation as we continue to support all goals and objectives of the Âé¶čAV,â Elmore said.
A Âé¶čAV alumnus, Elmore owns Mello Joy Coffee. He has served as chairman of the Raginâ Cajuns Athletic Foundation and as co-chair of its capital campaign. Giglio is a member of the business practice group at the law office of Liskow & Lewis. Washington is a partner in the law firm of Jones Walker LLP.
Jeanne Billeaud and F. Stan Hardee Jr. have been elected to serve three-year terms on the board. Billeaud is a certified public accountant. Hardee owns Hardee Lumber Co. in Kaplan, La.
Julie Bolton Falgout, president and CEO of the Foundation, said dedicated board members who serve as volunteers, and support from Âé¶čAV donors, contribute to the success of the Foundation and the University.
âWe are excited to have a strong board of community leaders, and we look forward to the insight and support they will bring to the Foundation as we work to assist with continued growth of the University,â she said.
The Foundation manages investments and serves as trustee of endowed funds and other private assets contributed for the benefit of the University.
