Thirteen Graduates Finish with Perfect GPAs

Thirteen students from the Â鶹AV were honored for perfect 4.0 grade point averages during Spring 2004 commencement exercises on May 15. The group honored were among the largest number of 4.0 gpa students in recent history.

“ Today we celebrate the largest number of students with perfect 4.0 gpas,” said Dr. Steve Landry, vice president for Academic Affairs at Â鶹AV. “This is a strong indicator of an excellent student body.”

The thirteen were Â鶹AV’s top graduates for the Spring 2004 semester. They include:

• B. Elizabeth D. Anderson, daughter of Charles Anderson of Lafayette. Anderson received two degrees - a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the College of Sciences and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the College of Sciences.

• Dusty Boudreaux, son of Jessie Boudreaux of Breaux Bridge and Jenny Jones. Boudreaux received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Sciences. He majored in physics.

• Karen Leigh Hoffpauir Duplantis, wife of Mark Duplantis of Lafayette and daughter of Morris and Marilyn Hoffpauir of Lafayette. Duplantis received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in psychology.

• Rebecca Lee Koenig, daughter of Robert and Norma Koenig of Carencro. Koenig received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Sciences. She majored in chemistry.

• Brandi Marie Lancon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lennit Lancon Jr. of New Iberia. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Education. She majored in elementary education.

• Kathryn Ruth Latiolais, daughter of Richard and Christina Latiolais of Rayne. Latiolais received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education. She majored in health and physical education.

• Ryan Paul Lemaire, son of Paul and Chris Lemaire of Lafayette. Lemaire received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering. He majored in mechanical engineering.

• John DeVezin Olivier, son of John and Paulette Olivier of Opelousas. Olivier received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering. He majored in electrical engineering with a computer engineering option.

• Jonathan Paul Primeaux, son of Kenneth and Greta Primeaux of Erath. Primeaux received a Bachelor of Science degree from the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. He majored in accounting.

• Michelle Lynn Rivet, daughter of David Rivet and Donna and Joseph Cummins of Harvey. Rivet received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education. She majored in secondary education, mathematics.

• Christi M. Rouly, daughter of Eugene and Shirley Rouly of Franklin. Rouly received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Liberal Arts. She majored in anthropology.

• Benjamin Paul Woodruff, son of Dr. Michael and Mrs. Michelle Woodruff of Marksville. Woodruff received a Bachelor of Science degree from the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. He majored in finance.

• Jennifer Michelle Zerangue, daughter of Wendel and Wanda Zerangue of Carencro. Zerangue received a Bachelor of Science degree from the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration. She majored in accounting.

Each semester the university recognizes its top graduates during Graduate School commencement exercises in the Cajundome.
