Lafayette Architect to Discuss Profession Changes

Published

Local architect Steve Oubre will discuss shifts in urban planning during a lecture at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in Â鶹AV’s Fletcher Hall, room 134.

This is the first in a series of lectures sponsored by Â鶹AV’s School of Architecture and Design.

Oubre, with Architects Southwest in Lafayette and a Â鶹AV graduate, will explain how changes in the architecture styles have increased demands on architects and the importance of continuing education to meet the ever-changing needs of their clients.

Examples of Architects Southwest’s work on campus include renovations to Edith Garland Dupré Library, additions at the Â鶹AV Alumni Center and expansion of F.G. Mouton Hall, which houses the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration.
