Dupré Library at 鶹AV is recognizing Black History month with an exhibit “African-American Trailblazers: From Trials to Triumphs.”
This theme is carried out through display cases in the foyer, stairwell and grand hall on the library’s first floor. Books, posters, clippings and artifacts depict the contributions of African-Americans.
The soulful paintings of New Orleans native Ted Ellis enhance the exhibit, which will run Feb. 1-28.
A Black History month program based on the same theme as the exhibit will take place on Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. Dr. Reginald Young, 鶹AV English Professor, will be the guest speaker. The program will include music and dance.
The public is invited to view the exhibit and attend the program. For more information, contact Sherry T. Broussard, special projects librarian, coordinator of the exhibit and the program at 482-6677.
