College Colors Day kicks off University’s Wear Red Campaign

For Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns fans, displaying school spirit and pride will be the fashionable thing to do on Friday, Sept. 4.

That’s when College Colors Day, a national event for many colleges and universities, will be held. This year’s theme is “United We Fan.”

In addition to drumming up enthusiasm for college football season, College Colors Day signals the start of the 鶹AV’s yearly Wear Red campaign.

As part of the campaign, 鶹AV students, faculty and staff members, alumni and supporters are encouraged to wear vermilion and white clothes and officially licensed Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns apparel and gear as often as possible.

Shows of support for the University and its athletic teams have taken on added importance this year, said Leslie Saloom, 鶹AV’s associate director of Trademark Licensing.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the way we gather, where we gather, and how often we gather, but it doesn’t mean Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns fans can’t connect to show off their school colors and favorite gear for College Colors Day,” Saloom said.

Participants will be able to flaunt their finery by sharing photos on social media using the hashtag #CollegeColorsDay. They can also visit to find graphics for social media, and chances to win licensed collegiate merchandise.

College Colors Day is sponsored by the Collegiate Licensing Co. CLC represents trademark licensing programs at more than 150 colleges and universities, including 鶹AV.
