Provisional Admission
What is Provisional Admission?
Applicants to degree programs who meet the requirements for admission but still need to provide final official documents (including official transcripts, proof of degree, or I-20 requirements), may be considered for provisional admission.
For those admitted provisionally using transcripts uploaded to the application portal, the Graduate School must receive an official transcript and proof of degree(s) directly from each institution to verify your academic credentials. If you are currently enrolled, official transcripts should be sent after final grades have posted and your degree has been awarded. Learn how to send official transcripts.
In addition to final official transcripts and proof of degree(s), international students who hope to receive or transfer an I-20 must supply financial documentation, a copy of your passport or current visa, and satisfactory proof of immunization compliance. Review more information about these requirements.
If this additional documentation is not provided by the first day of the semester or, if an international student, by the I-20 deadline, our offer of provisional admission will be reevaluated and rescinded.
How Do I Review Which Items are Outstanding?
Review your checklist of items by Select the name of your application and navigate to the Admission Items tab. Then, scroll down to Outstanding Documents. You can review the list of pending items and their status here. Remember, official transcripts and proof of degree must be sent directly from each institution. Documents such financial information, passport or visa, and immunization compliance should be uploaded to the application portal under the Outstanding Documents checklist.
